Capital Region Amphitheater Information

An amphitheater has stood in Ellis-Porter Riverside Park since the 1950s. However, with the renovation and reopening of the amphitheater in 2021, the venue has changed dramatically.
Locals had been crying out for an outdoor venue capable of holding large-scale events. Residents of Jefferson City, MO eventually got their wish when the existing amphitheater was significantly overhauled.
Many small events had already been held in the park, but new life has now been injected into the city’s cultural scene.
As early as April 2021, the first concert lined up for the redeveloped amphitheater sold out. About 60% of the tickets for this gig had been snapped up by residents of the Missouri areas Boone County and Cole County.
Residents of other counties and states were responsible for purchasing the remaining 40% of tickets. This reflects how the amphitheater’s reputation has flourished far beyond the local area.
Today, the venue has reserved seats, terrace seats, and grass seats – all surrounded by the natural beauty of the 60-acre park. Patrons going to shows here can also take advantage of abundant onsite amenities, including parking spaces and food trucks.

This change resulted from a naming rights agreement made with local healthcare providers.
The venue’s name was changed yet again in 2024, being slightly shortened to ‘Capital Region Amphitheater’. However, the ‘Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater’ name has also remained in use. You might also see the venue referred to as the CRMU Amphitheater in some places.
